Mallards Crushing Opponents On Road

BERLIN- Worcester Prep’s boys’ varsity lacrosse team have proven to be road warriors down the back stretch of the season with three straight wins away from their home field in Berlin in the last week by a combined 60-6 margin.

The Mallards were cruising along this season before dropping two in a row two weeks ago including a 17-7 loss to Caesar Rodney and a 17-6 loss to Salesianum. Since then, the Worcester boys have hit the road for three straight games in the last week and have completely dominated the competition on both ends of the field. The recent streak includes a 16-3 win over Salisbury School, a 22-2 win over Bishop McNamara on the road last Friday and the 22-1 rout of Delmarva Christian, again on the road, on Monday.

The Mallards will enjoy a little home cooking down the stretch with the Maryland Independent Lacrosse League (MILL) quarterfinals scheduled for home on Friday and the MILL semifinals scheduled at home next Tuesday. If the Mallards survive, the MILL championship game would be played on the road against an opponent to be determined. The Mallards also have a road game scheduled against Cape Henlopen on May 15 to close out the season.
