OC Fall Flag Football League Forming

OCEAN CITY- The Ocean City Recreation and Parks Department’s Fall Flag Football League is getting ready to start with an organizational meeting set for next week.

The league formed several years ago as an informal collection of teams representing local businesses gathering each Monday evening in the fall. Over a decade ago, it became an official Recreation and Parks program and has become one of the department’s most popular programs. Teams compete in a seven-on-seven screen flag football format with games played in 25-minute halves.

The league is set to begin on September 12 and run through November 23 on Mondays and some Wednesdays from 6-10 p.m. There is an organizational meeting set up for next Wednesday, August 31, at 6 p.m. at Northside Park. A team representative must attend the meeting and the $100 deposit must be submitted at that time. For more information, contact Recreation Coordinator Mike Grogan at (410) 250-0125.
