Seahawks Continue Early Dominance

BERLIN- Stephen Decatur’s varsity baseball team continued its early season dominance this week, beating Wicomico, 10-0, on Tuesday to improve to 6-0.

Zero is a number that defines the high powered Decatur varsity baseball team’s early season. The Seahawks are 6-0 thus far and four of those wins have come as shutouts. With the 10-0 win over the Indians on Tuesday, Decatur has now blanked Mardela in the opener, 11-0, Crisfield in the second game, 10-0, and Snow Hill in the third game, 8-0.

Decatur toughest challenge thus far, came from Parkside as expected. Both teams are loaded with talented seniors already committed to playing at the college level and the Seahawks edged the Rams, 4-3, in the fourth game of the year. Decatur followed that close game with a 13-3 rout of Bennett last week and the 10-0 win over WiHi on Tuesday. For the season, Decatur has outscored its opponents by a combined 56-6 through six games, for an average score of better than 9-1.
