Decatur Girls Scalp Indians, 64-30

BERLIN- After suffering their first defeat at the hands of Mardela last week, the Stephen Decatur girls’ varsity basketball team rebounded with a convincing 64-30 win over Bayside South rival Wicomico last Friday on the road.
The Seahawks crushed North Caroline, 73-32, in the season opener, followed by an impressive 66-31 win over Crisfield at home. Last Wednesday, however, the Seahawks took their first loss of the season, falling to Mardela, 66-47, on the road. However, it didn’t take long for Decatur to put that early setback behind them as they cruised by Wicomico, 64-30, on the road on Friday.
The Seahawks’ record now stands at 3-1 as they prepare to face Pocomoke in the last game of the regular season before the holiday break. The Decatur girls will host the annual John Coleman Holiday Tournament next Friday and Saturday before returning to regular season action with a home game against Washington on January 7.
