BERLIN- Worcester Prep’s boys’ varsity lacrosse team overcame a three-game losing streak to close out the regular season by rebounding with a 13-3 win over familiar rival Salisbury School on Tuesday in the first game of the postseason.
The Mallards dropped their last three games of the regular season to Indian River (10-8), Wilmington Friends (12-9) and St. Andrew’s (10-6). However, Worcester regrouped on Tuesday to move on in the MILL tournament with a 13-3 win over Salisbury School. Harrison Brennan scored five goals and dished out an assist, and also won eight of nine face-offs. Gordon Abercrombie scored twice and added an assist, while Wade Walter recorded seven saves. The Mallards played Calverton in the second round yesterday in a game played too late to be included in this edition.
Tuesday’s win over Salisbury School was the Mallards’ third of the season against the Dragons. With Tuesday’s win, Worcester’s season record improved to 7-9. After losing their first four, the Mallards went 7-5 down the stretch.
