BERLIN- The Ocean City Ladies Golf Association continued their spring season last week with a nine-hole tournament on the back nine of the Seaside Course at the Ocean City Golf Club in South Point.
Jill Bower turned in the low gross score on the day, while Bonnie Houston scored the low net. In the individual handicap flights, Mary Renshaw scored the low gross and Marie Orr scored the low net in Flight A, with golfers with handicaps between 1-19. In Flight B (handicap between 20-29), Vicki Martina scored the low net, while in Flight C (handicap 30-39) June Regan scored the low net. Carolyn Lyman had a birdie on the number-six hole, while Mary Renshaw chipped in on the second hole.
In other local golf news from last week, the South Point Swingers played a nine-hole scramble on the front nine of the Newport Bay course at Ocean City. The winning team, including John Burke, Hawley Waterman, Dot Healey and Howard Srebuck, shot a 35. Coming second with a score of 37 was the team of Frank Hogate, Margo Mead and Frank Vetare. John Burke won the closest-to-the-pin contest on the seventh hole.
