Using calorimetry, Worcester Prep sophomores Kathryn O’Malley, Haley Larsen and Hanna Nechay calculate just how many calories there are in a cashew. The research is part of a science project in teacher Jenn Corron’s class. The students learned there are approximately nine calories in a cashew.

Sweet Frog Yogurt store paid a visit to Berlin Intermediate school to reward Michael Anne Bunting’s class for their great job at collecting “Boxtops for Education.” In the month of September, Bunting’s homeroom collected $61 worth of Boxtops. Worcester County Arts Council Executive Director Anna Mullis attended a recent ceremony to award Stephen Decatur High School students Emily Cook, Alea Aul and MaryJo Wheatley the President’s Award for volunteering at the Arts Council. Each volunteered 100 hours to qualify for the award.
