OCEAN CITY- The Ocean City Surf Club recently announced the beneficiaries of their 2016 scholarship program including three well-deserving local teens.
Each year, the Ocean City Surf Club awards up to ten $1,000 scholarships to local high school seniors to apply toward their college tuition. The recipients might be surfers, members of the Beach Patrol or involved in other water-related activities. The recipients might be involved in stewardship programs for the local environment.
The intent is to nurture a new generation of local students interested in the future of resort area’s ocean-centered community and its fragile ecosystem. This year’s recipients were Adam Kristick, Erin Smith and Allison Shumate. Each received a $1,000 scholarship from the club at a recent ceremony.
