Mallards Roll In ESIAC Semifinals

BERLIN- Worcester Prep’s girls’ varsity basketball team rolled past Salisbury School, 44-18, on Tuesday in the Eastern Shore Independent Athletic Conference (ESIAC) tournament semifinals.

After winning four straight, the Mallards lost to St. Thomas More on the road on Senior Night last Friday to close out the regular season with a 14-3 record. On Tuesday, the Worcester girls quickly shook off that rare loss with a rout of Salisbury School at home in the ESIAC semifinals.

The Mallards led 12-7 after one quarter and 20-14 at the half before opening it up in the second half. Worcester outscored the Dragons, 11-2, in the third quarter and 13-2 in the fourth to cruise to the ESIAC championship game. The Mallards were scheduled to host Delmarva Christian in the conference championship game on Thursday.
