SD Middle School Seventh Grade Students Takes First Place In Maryland Poetry Contest

Stephen Decatur Middle School student Rachel Peretz, a seventh grader in Jamie Ridgely’s Phoenix class, entered a poetry contest for the local Worcester County Garden Club. From the local level she progressed and won first place in Maryland for seventh grade.  Rachel’s poem is now headed for the seven-state district level contest. The Phoenix class is a writing intensive literacy enrichment class for advanced readers and writers. She is pictured with Garden Club President Glenda Clark and member Marylou Scott
