Decatur Girls Bow Out Of State Playoffs

BERLIN- The Stephen Decatur girls’ varsity soccer team’s up and down season wrapped up last week with a 5-0 loss to Northeast in the state 3A-East Section II tournament.

It was a bit of a see-saw season for the young Seahawks, who finished with a 5-8 record overall. The team showed signs of promise and put together a couple of mini- two-game winning streaks, but couldn’t consistently string wins together for the most part.

Nonetheless, the Seahawks were fifth seed in the state 3A-East Section II tournament, but bowed out to fourth-seeded Northeast last Thursday on the road, 5-0. For what it’s worth, Northeast went on to beat top-seeded Oxon Hill this week.
