ON the wrecks that is!!

It’s actually a little bit earlier than we usually start to see a good number of flounder on the wrecks and reefs off of Ocean City, but we’ll take it.  One or two flounder mixed in with sea bass this time of year is not rare, but the local party boats are actually starting to catch some on just about every trip.  Captain Monty Hawkins had a trip just a few days ago with seven keepers and that’s a great sign.

I got a report from Captain Don Hetherington from the Judith M today reporting a good sea bass bite with several flounder mixed in recently.  Captain John Bunting was running the boat for a trip where the Judith M had 50 keeper sea bass and some really nice flounder.

Another local party boat that is starting to see some more flounder come over the rail is the Angler with Captain Chris Mizurak.  Below mate Dean Lo displays a couple of nice flounder and a really nice sea bass from today’s trip.

A few of our inshore charter boats had some good luck over the weekend.

Pitboss Fishing with Captain Jeff Coats had a decent day with the sharks over the weekend on a trip to the Twin Wrecks on board the Bad Influence where he found 67 degree water.  Captain Jeff had a total of 15 sharks in the chum slick including two makos and ended up catching two dusky sharks and releasing them boat side.

Captain John Prather on Ocean City Guide Service had an inshore casting trip this weekend where he showed his anglers a great time by putting them on some throwback rockfish on the south jetty.
