Snow Hill

SNOW HILL — Snow Hill Arts on the River is again bringing the “blues” to Snow Hill on Saturday, March 12.

The Old Firehouse on Green Street is the perfect setting for a relaxed evening with great music.

The lineup for the 9th Annual Snow Hill Blues Jam is not to be missed.

The Snow Hill All-Stars will open at 7 p.m. with its original members. Blues Jam co-founder Mike Armstrong is back to the stage with the All-Stars on guitar and vocals, Margot Resto on vocals and congas, Angel Resto, Jr. on bass and vocals, Robert “The Great Unknown” on drums and Miss T on sax. A new energy is joining the All-Stars this year, as Gabe Resto, Margot and Angel’s son, will be on guitar and vocals, bringing his funky, soulful style to the mix.

“It’s such a thrill to share the stage with these fine musicians and to connect with the incredible music lovers who come to the show,” says Margot Resto. “To experience it with family and friends is pure bliss.”

The Nighthawks will be headlining the jam with Mark Wenner on vocals and harmonica, Johnny Castle on vocals and bass, Paul Bell on guitar and Mark Stutso on drums and vocals. These seasoned musical magicians from the DC area are a respected group with a long history, playing together for over 40 years. They will be bringing their brand of blues, soul, Rock ‘n’ Roll and R&B that features a little smooth, a little rough and a ton of heart.  The All-Stars will join the Nighthawks on stage at the end of their set.

Cash bar and BBQ will be available. Will-call tickets are $25 and may be purchased at www.snowhillartsontheriver.org.

This year’s event T-shirt designed by Kirk McBride may be seen and purchased on the website. Tickets are also sold at Bishop’s Stock. Call 410-632-3555. Ticket sales are limited so there may not be availability at the door.
