Decatur Pole Vaulters Place High In States

BERLIN- Stephen Decatur’s varsity track teams closed out the 2015-2016 campaign with a handful of solid performances in the state championship meet including another strong showing in the pole vaulting events.

For some reason, the Seahawks have always been strong in the pole vault, collecting several regional and state championships in recent years and this year was no different. On the boys’ side, Evan Haas finished fifth in the state championship meet, while Ben Jolley finished eighth. Jillian Mitrecic also finished eighth on the girls’ side. In addition, Bethany Williams finished 13^th in the girls’ high jump.
