BERLIN- Stephen Decatur’s boys’ varsity basketball team won its 12th in a row on Tuesday, beating Kent County, 90-58, on Senior Night.
On a night when seniors Torrey Brittingham, Keyon Eley, DeQuan Andrews and Ryan Beach were honored, the Seahawks completed a season sweep at home. Decatur went 8-0 at home during the season and are now 18-1 overall.
Last Thursday, the Seahawks beat Mardela, 79-44, at home, followed by the home win against Kent County on Tuesday. The only blemish on their regular season schedule was a 64-58 loss to Pocomoke on the road back on December 21, but they avenged that loss with a resounding 67-48 win over the Warriors at home on January 26.
Decatur faced a tough Parkside team on the road on Thursday in a game played too late to be included in this edition, while Pocomoke was playing suddenly hot Snow Hill. Pocomoke is finished with its regular season schedule after yesterday’s game against Snow Hill, while the Seahawks have a road game against Cambridge-South Dorchester next Monday. If both teams win out, the Bayside South championship could be decided by a coin toss.
