BERLIN- Stephen Decatur’s girls’ varsity basketball team stayed on a major roll this week, cruising past Snow Hill and Bennett in easy fashion to extend their win streak to nine.
The Seahawks routed Snow Hill, 70-28, last Thursday, then crushed Bennett, 79-23 on Tuesday at home. With the pair of wins, the Seahawks improved their record to 15-3 overall, including a 15-1 mark in the Bayside Conference. Their only other losses came against tough opponents in the Governor’s Challenge. Decatur played always tough Mardela on Thursday in a game played too late to be included in this edition, and will face Indian River on Friday in a non-conference game. Looming next week is a rematch with Parkside. The Seahawks beat the Rams, 66-57, on the road in January.
