Track Teams Solid In 2nd Bayside Meet

BERLIN- Stephen Decatur’s varsity indoor track teams turned in strong performances in the second Bayside Conference meet of the season last week with solid team rankings and top finishes in many events.

Both teams finished fourth overall in their respective team standings. On the boys’ side, in the 1,600, Cameron James finished third. In the 3,200, Javier Hernandez finished third and Jack Reimer finished fourth. Tyrese Milbourne was fifth in the 500 while Alton Walker finished seventh. In the relays, Decatur was second in the 4×800, fifth in the 4×400 and fifth in the 4×200.

In the field events, Milbourne was sixth in the long jump. Decatur was strong in the pole vault with Hyunsoo Chun finishing second, Evan Haas finishing fourth and Ben Jolley finishing eighth. Patrick Miller was 10th in the shot put.

On the girls’ side, Alison Alvarado was fourth in the 1,600 and Peyton Dunham was fifth in the 3,200. Claire Billings was ninth in the 500. In the 55 hurdles, Emily Cook was seventh and Adrianna Serpe was ninth. In the field events, Christina Romano was fourth in the high jump and Bethany Williams was sixth. Williams also finished third in the long jump. Katie Hofman finished first in the pole vault, while Jillian Mitrecic was fourth. Takira Green came in 10th in the shot put. In the triple jump, Williams was second and Serpe was ninth.
