Mallards’ Win Streak At 3 After Holly Grove Win

BERLIN- After dropping four in a row, Worcester Prep’s boys’ varsity basketball team reeled off three straight wins to even its record at 4-4 on the young season.

The Mallards opened the season with a 50-29 win, but then dropped four in a row with losses to Broadwater, Nandua, two defeats in the Indian River Tip-Off. Since then, Worcester has reversed the trend with three straight, including a 57-34 win over Holly Grove on Monday. Sam Cantello led the Mallards with 13 points against Holly Grove.

The streak also includes wins over Salisbury School, 48-33, last Wednesday and Chincoteague, 55-34, last Friday. The Mallards will return to action during the Christmas break with a pair of games in the Governor’s Challenge in Salisbury on December 26-28.
