OCEAN CITY- The third leg of the Delmarva High School Tennis Tournament hosted by the Ocean City Tennis Center last weekend moved several local competitors into the finale of the summer-long Grand Prix tournament next month.
High school tennis players from all over Delmarva competed in the event last Sunday at the Ocean City Tennis Center, the third of three legs leading up to the Grand Prix tournament finale on September 20. The top four from each division will move on to the finale.
In the boys’ Gold Flight, Connor Hautman of Parkside, Luke Murphy of Bennett, Steven Lemerand of Bohemia Manor and Jae Han of Parkside are moving on after wins last weekend. In the boys’ Silver Flight, Richie Wright of Salisbury School, Ryan Shriver of Parkside, Jeff Ward of Bohemia Manor and Christian Beres of Decatur advanced.
In the girls’ Gold Flight, Natalie Lopez of Bohemia Manor, Danielle Johnson of Parkside, and Hyunji Lee and Abby Bazin, each of Bennett, advance to the finals. In the girls’ Silver Flight, Mallory Wainwright of Parkside, along with Sydney Weaver, Madi Robertson and Emily Lecompte, all of Bennett, moved on to the finals next month.
