OCEAN CITY- The Ocean City Marlin Club Auxiliary last week awarded four $5,000 scholarships to well deserving high school seniors from Stephen Decatur and Worcester Prep.
The OCMC Auxiliary awarded the Bertha Holloway and Dee Rigsby Scholarships after conducting fundraisers all year. The scholarship fund amounts have grown over the years and reached $5,000 this year. One of this year’s recipients from Decatur is Hannah Adkins, who is incidentally the great granddaughter of Bertha Holloway in whose name the award is dedicated. Adkins is bound for Salisbury University where she plans to major in biology and animal science. The other recipient from Decatur is Matthew Scott, who plans to attend McDaniel College with a major in biology-pre-med and opthamology.
One of the recipients from Worcester Prep is Maura Smith, who is planning to attend Franklin and Marshall with a major in biology-pre-med pediatrics. The other Worcester Prep recipient is Erik Zorn, who will attend the University of South Carolina with a major in computer science.
