BERLIN – Two new employees will join the Berlin Chamber of Commerce just in time for summer.

The Berlin Chamber of Commerce has hired Larnet St. Amant to fill the role of executive director and Morgan Coulson to serve as administrative assistant.

“I think it will be good to have a team of people to work together to accomplish all that is needed,” said Natalee DeHart, president of the chamber’s board of directors. “We will have Larnet working on membership and events and Morgan will handle communications and assisting Larnet.”

St. Amant, an Ocean Pines resident, has lived in the Berlin area for the past 30 years. She’s done a little of everything through the years, working in event planning, restaurants and retail establishments. She will continue her part-time position at Bruder Hill as she takes on her role of director at the chamber.

“I have a passion for Berlin,” she said. “I just want to lend my talents to the chamber and help let people know how great Berlin is.”

St. Amant believes her extensive knowledge of the area and its residents will ensure a smooth transition. She’s already familiar with the town’s business community and hopes to foster the cooperative spirit that already exists.

Though her first goal is to ensure the Berlin Jazz and Blues Bash goes well this weekend, St. Amant wants to grow the chamber’s membership and work with other area chambers.

“If they’re doing well, we’re doing well,” she said.

Coulson will be helping St. Amant with administrative duties. St. Amant says that will ensure she doesn’t spend all of her time behind a desk.

“I can be out there being the face of the chamber,” she said. “The two of us together are going to work out great.”

Coulson is looking forward to joining St. Amant.

“I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to work with the chamber during such an artistic and prolific period,” she said. “The town of Berlin has been close to my heart since I was young and I look forward to assisting in any way possible to support and enhance the community.”

Though the two women haven’t finalized their schedules yet, St. Amant says she wants to assure people they will be easy to reach and interested in hearing from merchants.

“The chamber is here to serve the community,” she said. “We’re going to be accessible. We want to make this a great chamber.”
