OCEAN CITY — A Churchill, Md. man faces multiple charges after a wild spree on a motorcycle in downtown Ocean City on Saturday afternoon that ended with a collision with a vehicle before the suspect attempted to flee on foot.

Around 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, OCPD officers attempted a traffic stop on a motorcycle traveling southbound on Philadelphia Ave. in the area of 8th Street. The driver of the motorcycle, identified as Kevin R. Joiner, 30, of Churchill, Md., then fled from police, performing several unsafe lane changes, nearly striking multiple vehicles and making several illegal U-turns and traveling against the flow of traffic on Philadelphia Ave.

While traveling southbound on Philadelphia Ave., Joiner approached a red traffic signal at 2nd Street. Joiner continued through the intersection and through the red light, nearly striking a family of six crossing the roadway. Joiner then struck a small sedan and was ejected from the motorcycle.

Joiner then attempted to flee from police on foot, but was quickly detained and placed under arrest by the officers. Joiner was charged with 25 traffic violations including driving with a suspended and revoked license. He was taken before a District Court Commissioner and was ordered to be held on a $20,000 bond. He was released on Sunday after posting bond. A trial date has been set for July 7.
