Showell Elementary First Graders Welcome The Start Of The Baseball Season

Lori Sullivan’s first graders at Showell Elementary welcomed the start of the baseball season with their volunteer, Nathan Hyde, who read them a book about Jackie Robinson, and then revealed that he wrote a letter to one of Robinson’s teammates, Carl Erskine, about their class. Erskine wrote Mrs. Sullivan’s class a letter back and surprised each student with an autographed photo that included both Erskine and Robinson.
