Seahawks Rout Warriors To Improve To 8-0

BERLIN- Stephen Decatur’s varsity baseball team routed host Mardela, 16-0, on Monday to remain unbeaten at 8-0 on the season.

The Seahawks beat the Warriors for the second time this year on Monday, 16-0. Decatur beat Mardela, 11-0, in the season opener back on March 23. Decatur’s record now stands at 8-0 and they have outscored their opponents by a combined 84-7 with a combination of dominating pitching, power hitting and great defense.

The 8-0 streak to start the season includes five shutouts. Decatur pitching has now blanked Mardela twice, Crisfield, Snow Hill, and Wicomico and have only given up more than one run in a game one time in a 4-3 win over rival Parkside on March 31.

The Seahawks were scheduled to play a double-header against Washington on Thursday in games played too late to be included in this edition. Decatur will face county rival Snow Hill at home on Monday, followed by a road game at North Caroline on Tuesday. Next Wednesday, the Seahawks will face Parkside again at home in the much-anticipated rematch.
