Worcester Girls Fall To Sabres In ESIAC Tourney

Worcester Girls Fall to Sabres 32-22 BERLIN- Worcester Prep’s girls’ varsity basketball team fell to old rival Saints Peter and Paul, 32-22, in the ESIAC semifinals, ending what was otherwise a remarkable season for the Mallards.

In what was the third leg of a three-game trilogy, the Mallards fell to Saints Peter and Paul when it mattered the most, in the conference semifinals last week. Saints Peter and Paul beat Worcester, 32-26, back on January 9 in the first meeting, but the Mallards avenged the loss with a narrow 25-24 win two weeks ago.

Despite the early exit from the conference tournament, the 2014-2015 campaign was special for the Mallards for a lot of reasons. Worcester finished with an impressive 15-4 record and at one point in the season reeled off eight straight wins.
