BERLIN- Stephen Decatur’s girls’ varsity basketball team beat Bennett, 71-39, last week to run its win streak to 15 and close in on a Bayside South title.
The Seahawks cruised past the Clippers, 71-39, on Thursday for their 15th straight win. Dayona Godwin led Decatur with 25 points, while Amya Mumford added 23 and Lexie VanKirk grabbed 12 rebounds. This week’s snow storm jumbled the local prep schedule somewhat, but the Seahawks were scheduled to play Parkside at home yesterday and will close out the regular season with another home game against Kent Island this afternoon. Depending on what Mardela does this week, the Seahawks could clinch the Bayside South championship and play in the Bayside Conference Championship next week.
