BERLIN — The Town of Berlin is kicking off its first ever strategic planning process with a set of community input meetings.
The first meeting will be a Jan. 15 session at town hall from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with facilitator Christine Becker.
“The kickoff meeting is open to the public and designed to focus on input from the Mayor and Council as well as department directors,” Berlin Mayor Gee Williams said. “It’s our way of doing our homework before the community meetings start.”
Community meetings in each of the town’s four districts will follow. On Thursday, Jan. 29, a meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. in the multi-purpose building on Flower Street. On Saturday, Feb. 7, a meeting will be held at 9:30 a.m. at Buckingham Elementary School.
On Thursday, Feb. 12 a meeting will be held at 6 p.m. at town hall. The final meeting will be Saturday, Feb. 21 at 9:30 a.m. in the multi-purpose building.
“After each of the Thursday night meetings, we’re holding an after-hours event at the visitor center so everyone can continue the conversation and connection,” Town Administrator Laura Allen said.
The mayor, council and key staff will wrap up the process by meeting with the facilitator at town hall on March 11 and March 12.
“I hope everyone will take the opportunity to come to the community meetings and be a part of co-creating Berlin’s future,” Williams said. “… we want to hear from our community where they want us to go next.”
