Decatur Boys Routed By Washington, 77-44

BERLIN- Stephen Decatur’s boys’ varsity basketball team continued its slide this week, losing to visiting Washington, 77-44, in their first regular season game after the holiday break.

The Seahawks are young and talented and have shown promise at times this season, but are clearly still a work in progress. Just how far they have to go still was evident in the 77-44 loss to Washington on Tuesday. The Seahawks hung with the Jaguars for a while on Tuesday, but were eventually worn down by Washington’s depth and talent.

Decatur opened the season with a pair of wins over North Caroline and Mardela, but then lost to Bayside South power Wicomico. The Seahawks then beat Easton, but fell to county rival Pocomoke. During the Governor’s Challenge Holiday Tournament, Decatur dropped two to Aberdeen and Delmar. Their regular season record now stands at 3-3.
