8 26 14 manslaughter case

SNOW HILL — Exactly what transpired on Aug. 24, 2014 in Ocean City when a Pennsylvania man died may never be fully known after a plea agreement was announced in Worcester County Circuit Court this afternoon.

Justin D. Cancelliere, of North Whitehall, Pa., died on Aug. 24 after a fight in downtown Ocean City. Two Ocean City men, Caleb Edwin-Earl Ochse, 27, and Christopher Blake Kendall, 22, were initially arrested and charged with manslaughter, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, affray, disorderly conduct and alcohol beverage-did endanger for their alleged roles in the confrontation.

In Circuit Court today, a plea agreement was announced between the State’s Attorney’s Office and the defense. Ochse will serve a maximum of 18 months in jail and Kendall will serve at most one year in jail pending the outcome of a pre-sentence investigation after pleading guilty to affray.

More details will be reported on this development this afternoon.
