Shelter Launches Membership Drive

BERLIN — Once a year in December the Worcester County Humane Society (WCHS) launches its membership drive and the funds raised enable the non-profit shelter to continue serving the people and animals in the community.

Membership donations directly benefit all of the animals that come into the no-kill shelter. Members make it possible for the WCHS to take in cats and dogs in need of shelter and sanctuary, provide vaccinations for every animal and provide loving care in a clean, warm and comfortable environment. The dedicated staff not only cares for all of the animals, but they also promote the adoption of animals into loving homes and reunite lost pets with their owners.

Caring for ever increasing numbers of animals puts a tremendous burden on the staff, facility and limited resources. Every donation is critical to carry out the shelter’s mission to advocate for animal welfare and to provide compassionate care and protection for all cats and dogs that find their way to the shelter.

Membership for individuals is only $25 for 2015. As a member, you will get updates on upcoming events and earn a say in how the shelter is run. Membership forms are available at www.worcestercountyhumanesociety.org or visit the shelter at 12330 Eagles Nest Road in Berlin.

For businesses interested in becoming a corporate sponsor, the shelter has six different levels of sponsorship ranging from $250 to $10,000. Call 410-213-0146 for more information. Sponsorship forms are available at the shelter and on the website.
