Regina Marie Esham
BERLIN — Regina Marie Esham, 67, of Berlin, died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2014.
During the last few years of her life, she resided in both Berlin and Pocomoke City. Born Feb. 4, 1947 in Washington, DC, she was the only child of Walter and Mildred Welsh.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a dear aunt and uncle, Helen and Dr. Bill DeWalt of Virginia Beach, VA.
Regina was a registered nurse who had worked in several health care settings. She retired as the quality assurance director at Berlin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in 2009. Regina is survived by her son, Matt and his wife Heather of Pocomoke City, and her daughter, Lydia Baker and her husband Robert of Berlin.
She is also survived by four cherished grandchildren, Ella and Madeline Esham and Chase and Bryce Baker, who brought her abundant joy. She loved spending time with her family, decorating and gardening. She was a talented seamstress, quilter and basket weaver. Regina enjoyed attending Pitts Creek Baptist Church in Pocomoke City with her grandchildren where she was involved in Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and decorating the church. She had volunteered at the Discovery Center and St. Mary’s Christian Childcare Center both in Pocomoke City. She will always be remembered for her infinite patience, love of children, and her beautiful generous smile.
A celebration of Regina’s life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014 at Peaky’s Rooftop Restaurant in the Fenwick Inn, Ocean City, from 2-6 p.m. Friends and family are invited to share memories of Regina and to celebrate her strength and kindness.
