Fatal Motorcycle Crash Near Showell

SHOWELL — A Salisbury man lost his life in a motorcycle accident on Route 113 near Route 589 in Showell on Sunday evening.

Around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Maryland State Police troopers responded to a single-vehicle accident involving a motorcycle on northbound Route 113 at Route 589. The investigation revealed a 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle had been traveling in the slow lane of northbound Route 113. For unknown reasons, the motorcycle’s operator, identified as Keith Ray Lambden, 55, of Salisbury, lost control of the motorcycle, traveled off the right side of the highway and struck the guardrail.

Lambden succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. The contributing factors of the collision are unknown at this time and the accident remains under investigation. Northbound Route 113 remained closed for about four hours. The MSP were assisted on the scene by the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office.
