OCEAN CITY — Susan G. Komen Maryland® will return to Ocean City on Sunday for the 3rd Annual Komen Maryland Ocean City Race for the Cure®,

The Race, which takes place entirely along the Boardwalk, is comprised of a 5K (3.1 miles) competitive timed run, a 5K recreational run, a 5K walk and a family fun walk. The Race Village will once again be set up in the Inlet.

Participants can register at www.komenmd.org/oc or at the Carousel Hotel on 117th Street on Friday, April 11, from noon until 5 p.m., or on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Registration will also be available on Race Day in the Registration Tent at the Race Village.

Susan G. Komen Maryland has worked with the Town of Ocean City to create a destination weekend event, to attract participants to visit the resort during the early part of the season while also supporting the breast cancer organization.

A Concert for the Cure will be featured at Seacrets on 49th Street on Friday, April 11, from 7-9 p.m.  There will be a suggested donation of $5 at the door.

Planet Maze, at 3305 Coastal Highway, will offer indoor maze, laser tag, and mini golf, on Saturday, April 12 from 3-5 p.m.  The cost is $15 for unlimited fun.

Skate for the Cure will be held at the Carousel Hotel ice rink on 117th Street, from 5-7 p.m.  A $10 entry fee includes skate rental.

Businesses in Ocean City have also been invited to “Paint the Town Pink” by decorating their business location to show their support for the event.  The judging for the competition will occur on Friday. The lucky winner will receive the “SeaBoard Business Prize Package,” which includes beachfront advertising to be performed between May 23 and June 6 (specific days to be determined), one 10-second advertisement displayed every five minutes running the full length of the beach. Winner will receive a total of 16 beach passes, valued at $1,280. On race day, the Race Village will open at 7 a.m. on Sunday.  The run will begin at 9 a.m., and the walk will begin at 9:30 a.m. The full schedule is 7 a.m., survivor, donation and registration tents open; 7:40 a.m., Survivors Parade of Pink; 8 a.m., Survivor Photo; 8:15 a.m., warm-up; 9 a.m., 5K Run (3.1 miles); 9:30 a.m., 5K Walk (3.1 miles)/Family Fun Walk; and 10:30 a.m., Awards Ceremony
