Worcester Girls Fall In ESIAC Title Game

BERLIN- Worcester Prep’s girls’ varsity soccer team fell to Saints Peter and Paul, 3-0, in the ESIAC tournament championship game last Friday.
The Mallards enjoyed another successful regular season and finished as the top seed in the ESIAC tournament. Last Wednesday, the Worcester girls routed Salisbury School, 7-0, in the semifinals. Lilly DiNardo led the Mallards with four goals, including three in the first half. Julia D’Antonio, Laura Issel and Maggie Coutu each added single tallies.
The semifinal win over the Dragons set up a rubber match with Saints Peter and Paul. The Mallards split the regular season series with the Sabres, winning 1-0 and losing 2-1. Last Friday, the Sabres got the upper hand, beating the Mallards, 3-0, in the championship tournament final.
