Mallards Capture Title, Finish Perfect

BERLIN- Worcester Prep’s varsity field hockey team completed its perfect 14-0 season last week with a victory over Saints Peter and Paul, 3-0, in the Eastern Shore Independent Athletic Conference (ESIAC) tournament championship game.
The Mallards ran the table in the regular season, finishing a perfect 121-0 and earning the top seed in the ESIAC tournament. In the tournament semifinals last Wednesday, the Mallards cruised past Salisbury School, 5-0, to reach the championship game. Against Salisbury School, Alison Greer led the way with two goals, while Jordie Loomis and Meg Lingo each scored single goals.
The semifinal win earned the Mallards a return trip to the ESIAC championship game and a rematch with Saints Peter and Paul. Last year, Worcester edged the Sabres, 3-2, in the ESIAC title game. Last Friday, the Mallards made it two in a row, downing Saints Peter and Paul, 3-0, in the championship game.
