PRMC Recognized

SALISBURY — Peninsula Regional Medical Center (PRMC) is among the nation’s best hospitals for 2012-2013, and has been named a Best Regional Hospital on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, according to U.S. News & World Report, the publisher of Best Hospitals.

The hospital rankings, said U.S. News Health Rankings Editor Avery Comarow, are like a GPS-type aid to help steer patients to hospitals with strong skills in the procedures and medical conditions that present the biggest challenges.

“All of these hospitals are the kinds of medical centers that should be on your list when you need the best care,” said Comarow.

U.S. News and World Report previously named PRMC a Most Connected Hospital for its use of technology in support of patient care and patient safety. In its Best Nursing Home Study earlier this year, it gave Peninsula Regional’s Transitional Care Unit at a 5-Star Rating.
