OCEAN CITY- The Beach Lacrosse Program made a great showing at the Lax Splash tournament in Baltimore last weekend with the girls’ 11-12 team winning the championship in its division.
The Beach Lacrosse 11-12 girls swept six games to win the championship, including a 4-3 nail biter over FCA in the title game. The Beach Lax 11-12 girls, made up of 5th and 6th graders, were the youngest team in its division. Most of the teams they competed against in the Lax Splash tournament were made up of 7th graders. The 11-12 girls beat Kelly Post, 7-1; tied LTRC, 9-9; beat Andover, 12-1; beat Cockeysville, 7-2; beat Jarrettsville, 5-4, in the semifinals, and beat FCA, 4-3, in the championship game.
The Beach Lacrosse 13-14 girls also had a great run to the championship game in its division. The local girls beat Pittsburgh, 8-5; beat RGLC, 4-2; beat Andover, 10-3, beat Carroll Manor, 9-2; beat Kelly Post, 4-3, in the semifinals and then fell to Carroll Manor, 11-4, in the title game. The Beach Lacrosse 9-10 girls also had a great tournament, beating Carroll Manor, 12-1, Geronimo, 8-5; and Hereford, 13-1, before falling to Reisterstown, 8-7.
On the boys’ side, the Beach Lacrosse 7-8 team lost to Dark Horse Black, 9-6, then came back to beat Carroll Manor, 13-7, and Hereford, 11-0. The 9-10 boys fell to Bethesda, 6-4, in their opener, then beat Geronimo, 7-4, and Dunkirk, 8-1. The 13-14 boys beat BCMSLL, 8-2, then lost to Carlisle, 11-3, before rebounding with a 2-1 win over Hereford.
