Dalton D. Spann
OCEAN PINES – Dalton D. Spann, 79, died Monday, March 29, 2010, peacefully, at his Ocean Pines home.
Born Sept. 14, 1930 in Clovis, N.M., he is survived by his wife Frances Spann. The couple recently celebrated their 50th anniversary with family and close friends.
He was the father of five children and nine grandchildren. His children include his daughter, Stacy Paulsen of Ocean Pines; son, David Spann of Newman Lake, Wash.; daughter Lisa Corona of Concord, Calif.; daughter Shelly Burns of Rochester, Wash.; and son Dalton Spann of Ada, Okla. He is also survived by numerous brothers and sisters.
He was an active lifetime VFW member, was honorably discharged from the Navy after serving aboard the USS Sproston in the Korean Conflict. He raised his family working as a carpenter.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 5 at the Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the VFW have been requested by the family,
Marie Isabelle Wilkins
PRINCESS ANNE – Marie Isabelle Wilkins, 75, went peacefully on Monday, March 29, 2010 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.
Born in Showell, she was the daughter of the late James Davis and and Bertha Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Allison Wilkins.
She had worked for Showell Hatchery for many years. She enjoyed sewing and embroidery.
She is survived by two sons, Donald Wilkins and his wife Ann and Michael Wilkins and his wife Hedy; a daughter, Patricia Mosley and her husband Danny; three brothers; seven grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 3 at noon at the Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin. Friends may call from 11 a.m.-noon.
Louis Castaldi
OCEAN CITY – Louis “Luca” Castaldi, 80, of Ocean City, passed away peacefully March 29, 2010, at the Berlin Nursing Home in Berlin after an extended illness.
As a long time resident of Ocean City, he was an established lobsterman/fisherman for over 60 years. He lived his life on the ocean.
He is survived by his nephews, Michael Castaldi of New Jersey and Thomas Bruhn of Florida, and nieces Madalyn Hauber, Pamela Raumer, and Joyce McFarland.
Final services will be private. A memorial service will take place at a later date in Ocean City. Memorial contributions can be made in Lucas memory to St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Ocean City.
