The WYFCS team, dubbed GOWOYO, is looking for runners to join the team, or for those more inclined to watch from the sidelines, sponsors for their fundraising effort. Runners are asked to raise a minimum of $250, which will be used to help the organization’s efforts to stomp out child abuse, neglect and suffering in the community.

To that end, the GOWOYO team is partnering with race organizers for a kick-off event next Tuesday at the Greene Turtle West from 6-8 p.m. Those interested in joining the team will have the opportunity to meet other runners, gather information on the races and take advantage of reduced registration rates while enjoying happy hour drink prices and food specials. Registration during the kick-off event are $50 for the half marathon (usually $60), and $18 for the 5K (usually $25).
