BERLIN- Former Stephen Decatur soccer standout Steve Fell, who excelled in college and on the professional level, returns to his roots next week when he hosts a soccer camp at the Northern Worcester Athletic Complex (NWAC) for young players in the area.
Fell, one of the most decorated scholar-athletes ever at Decatur, hosted his first summer soccer camp for young boys and girls two years at the NWAC in Berlin and returns this August for his third year. Fell, accompanied by other talented coaches and players from the Virginia-based Professional Football Academy, will teach young soccer players in the area the basics of the sport in a fun atmosphere.
Fell, director of technical programs for PFA, will act as camp director for the Summer Excellence Program, which makes a stop in his native Berlin starting Monday on August 4-8. Fell was a four-year standout at Decatur and was named All State and Bayside Conference Player of the Year in 2000, his senior year before moving on to a stellar college and professional career.
The camp will be held next Monday to Friday at NWAC in Berlin and will be divided into two sessions. Sessions for boys and girls ages 5-13 will be held each day from 9 a.m. to Noon, with sessions for older players ages 14-17 held each evening from 5-8 p.m. More information about the camps and online registration is available on the official PFA website at www.pfacademy.com.
