BERLIN – Several Stephen Decatur varsity baseball players were honored last week as Bayside South All-Stars including senior standout Brian Hudson, who was named the conference player of the year.
Hudson was the anchor of the Seahawk infield for the last few years at third base and a powerful force in the middle of the line-up at the clean-up position. He was recognized as conference player of the year for his contributions all season long and for leading the Seahawks to the third round of the state playoffs.
Hudson is joined on the Bayside South All-Start First Team by fellow Seahawk Paul Stortini, who played centerfield for Decatur this season. Other local players on the first team include Jason Allinder and Joey Figgs from Snow Hill as well as Eric Briethurt from Pocomoke.
Decatur was well represented on the Bayside South All-Star second team as well with Lucas Koenig and Marshall Betts named to the squad. Snow Hill’s Matt Cross and Logan Becker from Pocomoke were also named to the second team.
Three Seahawks were named to the Bayside South All-Star honorable mention team including Troy Bennett, James Rossi and Dustin Schaffer.
