BERLIN – Worcester County law enforcement agencies this week have expanded their search for a Delaware woman and mother of two who went missing in the Pocomoke area over two weeks ago.
Christine Marie Sheddy, 26, of Bowers Beach, Del., was last seen on Nov. 13 in the Byrd Street area of Pocomoke. She has been missing now for over two weeks, touching off a search effort across Worcester County that has now been expanded to include neighboring Delaware and Virginia.
“We don’t have any more information on the missing woman,” said Worcester County Sheriff’s Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Ed Schreier this week. “We have conducted searches in the area and have not been able to locate her yet,”
Sheddy left her Bowers Beach, Del. home on Nov. 13 with her two sons, ages two and four, in tow to visit a couple in Pocomoke she had met earlier through her boyfriend. Sheddy remained behind with her two sons at the Pocomoke residence while the couple went to pick up their own children at school.
When the couple returned, Sheddy was gone and her two boys were left home alone. Sheddy was supposed to have returned to her Bowers Beach residence on Nov. 17. She was reported missing, touching off a search throughout the county and beyond. According to reports, Sheddy’s two sons are now staying with their father.
The Worcester County Bureau of Investigation (WCBI) has taken the lead on the case with the cooperation of allied law enforcement agencies although WCBI detectives do not suspect foul play at this time.
Sheddy’s information has been submitted to other law enforcement agencies in the county including Ocean City. Her picture and description has been circulated to the allied agencies.
“We have her information in our data base and her picture and description has become part of our routine roll call each day,” said Ocean City Police Department’s Barry Neeb. “We haven’t been given any indication she might be in Ocean City, but we remain on the lookout for her.”
Sheddy is 5-feet, 3-inches tall and weighs around 100 pounds. Anyone with information is urged to call WCBI Detective Robert Trautman at 1-800-811-8396.
