BERLIN- Both Worcester Prep’s varsity lacrosse team’s players were recognized for winning the Eastern Shore Independent Athletic Conference (ESIAC) championships with several earning All-Conference honors and Tucker Brown being named ESIAC Player of the Year.
The Worcester boys’ team won its third straight ESIAC championship this month, beating Gunston, 12-8, in the title game. The Worcester girls won their fifth straight ESIAC championship, beating old rival Saints Peter and Paul, 17-10, in the title game.
When the post-season awards were announced last week, Brown, who scored two goals and dished out four assists in the title game, was named ESIAC Player of the Year. Brown, a three-sport standout at Worcester, was also named ESIAC Player of the Year in basketball this winter. The attackman and midfielder played an instrumental role in the Mallards’ championship run in lacrosse this season.
Also named to the ESIAC All-Conference First Team from the Worcester boys’ team this season were Cole Berry, Cooper Richins, Patrick Petrera, Max Bisaha and Sam Cantello. Rayne Parker was also named to the All-ESIAC honorable mention team.
From the Worcester Prep girls’ championship team, Leigh Lingo, Regan Lingo, Carly Hoffman, Sophia Bandorick, Karlie Southcomb and Julie Talbert were named to the ESIAC All-Conference First Team. Madison Bescak was also named to the All-ESIAC honorable mention team.
