BERLIN — Show off your garden this year with native sun and shade plants from Assateague Coastal Trust’s 19th Annual Go Native Plant Sale. This year, the non-profit will host the big event on Saturday, May 5 from 8 a.m. -2 p.m. at its office on 9842 Main Street in Berlin.
Not your ordinary plant sale, this is your opportunity to peruse through carefully selected species of plants and herbs. Assateague Coastal Trust (ACT) offers plant and veggie selections grown by local organic farmers. Did you know that utilizing plants native to the area is not only visibly appealing, but it supports the health of native birds and pollinators as well? Your garden will thank you.
With a fantastic lineup of sun and shade plants, the Go Native Plant Sale has something for every yard. Assateague Coastal Trust will be offering shade plants, such as the Sensitive Fern, Solomons Seal and Running Tapestry, and sun plants, like Wild Stonecrop, Golden Alexander and Cardinal Flower.
An excellent mix of pepper varieties, tomatoes and herbs will also be available for those looking to add to or build upon their edible gardens.
Proceeds generated from the sale will benefit ACT and its efforts to ensure we all have clean waterways, litter free beaches, and a healthy community.
