While there were protests and some verbal sparring in close quarters outside Stephen Decatur High School tonight, it was largely a peaceful rally for Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump.
Approximately 3,000 people filled Decatur’s gym as well as secondary areas where it was streamed. A largely pro-Trump crowd took in the speech with chants of “USA,” “Build That Wall” and “We Want Trump.” Thousands more waited outside. By the time the speech, which was broadcast to those outside, was over, the crowds had decreased significantly.
Prior to the speech inside, there were a handful of individuals removed from the gym where Trump was to speak for unknown reasons. There was a heavy law enforcement presence inside and particularly outside.
Full team coverage coming in the morning. Here are some photos from outside the venue prior to the speech.
