Ravens Honor Decatur Students For Community Service

BALTIMORE – One hundred National Honor Society and Presidential Service Award volunteers from Stephen Decatur High School attended the Ravens vs. Broncos game last week after being selected as Honor Rows Program recipients.

The Ravens’ 13th Annual Honor Rows Program, presented by M&T Bank, salutes organizations that provide outstanding service to the community.

Through events and fundraisers, the students of the two service organizations have raised over $2,000 and volunteered over 2,000 hours of service to the school and local communities. They organize food drives, contribute to Believe in Tomorrow, an organization that seeks to provide financial and recreational support to families with loved ones battling terminal diseases, adopt families at Thanksgiving and Christmas and more.

During each Ravens home game throughout the 2012-2013 regular season, winning groups receive tickets to a game, Honor Rows T-shirts for all participants, a pre-game on-field visit and official in-game recognition on the RavensVision screens. In addition, WBAL-TV 11, broadcasting partner of the Baltimore Ravens, periodically features Honor Rows recipients during on-air news segments.

Honorees were selected by a panel from M&T Bank, the Governor’s Office of Service and Volunteerism, the Baltimore Ravens, and WBAL-TV 11. Winning organizations demonstrated a strong commitment to servicing the needs of the local community.
