BERLIN- Stephen Decatur’s varsity wrestling team swept two matches last week, beating North Caroline, 58-12 and Easton, 54-21, to remain unbeaten at a perfect 4-0.

The Seahawks got off to a quick start against North Caroline, winning by pin in the first five matches to take a commanding 30-0 lead. Andrew Borradaile got the streak of pins started at 160, followed by Jared King at 170, John Devenny at 182, Adam Bargar at 195 and Caleb Massey at 220. North Caroline got on the board with a win at 285 over Ryan Kail, but Conner McCormick got the Seahawks back on track with a win. North Caroline cut the lead to 33-12 with a win at 113, but that was as close as they would get as Decatur cruised to the 58-12 victory with wins by T.J. Scaffone, Joseph Rodriguez, Nate Rosenblatt, Dylan Pusey, Brad Miller, Alex Schiffer and Kaelen Patterson.

Four days later, Decatur beat Easton for its second big win in a row over a Bayside North opponent to improve to 4-0. In the Easton match, the Seahawks got wins from Scaffone at 106, Dillon Goggin at 113, Rosenblatt at 120, Rodriguez at 126, Schiffer at 145, Patterson at 152, Borradaile at 160, King at 170 and Marwan Saleh at 220.
