Worcester Girls Rebound with 6-0 Win

10/12/2012 | By Shawn J. Soper, Sports Editor

BERLIN- Worcester Prep’s girls’ varsity soccer team rebounded from a tough loss last week with an impressive 6-0 win over Salisbury Christian on Monday.

The Mallards fell to Delaware powerhouse St. Andrew’s last Friday, but turned it around quickly with a 6-0 win over Delmarva Christian on Monday. Frankie Willing and Lilly DiNardo led the Mallards’ attack with two goals each, while Alex Bruder and Meredith Soule each scored single goals. Mollie Marshall also contributed an assist.

The Mallards face Gunston at home today on Senior Day before hitting the road on Monday for a game against Salisbury School. Worcester beat Salisbury School, 5-1, in the last meeting between the two schools last Tuesday after trailing 1-0 at the half. The Worcester girls still have a home game remaining against Saints Peter and Paul next week. The Mallards lost to the Sabres in overtime, 2-2, back on September 10.
