OCEAN CITY — Ocean City police this week continued to investigate shots fired early last Friday morning in the downtown area, and although a suspect has not been identified nor have any victims surfaced, there have been reports of damage to a vehicle in the area.
Around 2:45 a.m. last Friday, Ocean City Police Department (OCPD) officers responded to a report of several gunshots being fired in the area of 33rd Street and Philadelphia Avenue near the McDonalds.
OCPD officers searched for a potential suspect or suspects to no avail. Later the same morning, OCPD officers were alerted to evidence of damage caused by ammunition to a vehicle nearby.
As of mid-week, OCPD detectives were still actively investigating the case to determine who fired the shots and for what reason. Again, no victims have been reported in the shooting incident.
