Ocean City Bank Robbery Suspect Wanted

OCEAN CITY — Ocean City police detectives are looking for a possible armed and dangerous suspect wanted in connection with the armed robbery of a bank in the area of Coastal Highway and 122nd Street on Wednesday afternoon.

The armed robbery occurred at the Bank of Ocean City branch on Coastal Highway at 122nd Street around 2:15 p.m. on Wednesday. According to bank tellers, the suspect entered the bank and demanded money, threatening two employees at gunpoint. The suspect then fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a light-skinned African-American male in his late 20s or early 30s around 5’6” to 5’10” tall. At the time of the robbery, the suspect was wearing a floppy, or “bucket-style” hat, a fake beard and a beige jumpsuit while holding a white package. After robbing the bank, it is believed the suspect traveled south on Coastal Highway on foot.

Citizens are reminded the suspect is considered armed and dangerous and should not attempt to approach or detain the suspect, but rather contact police immediately if he is observed.
